Thursday, 19 March at 11am - NSWBAR Common Room - How to Appeal: Structuring and Presenting CPD Sessions.

The Education Committee is seeking expressions of interest for attendees to participate in the below interactive CPD session scheduled for 19 March 2026.

Given the critical importance of the content provided in CPD presentations for fellow barristers, how can those of us delivering this training ensure that the content “sticks” for our participants? This two-hour session, “How to Appeal: Structuring and Presenting CPD Sessions”, explores adult learning theory, tools, activities, discussions and most critically, opportunities to finesse the design and structure of our CPD sessions, for maximum participant impact.

The session will be presented by Dr Georgia Seffrin, a creative leadership consultant, specialising in developing dynamic facilitation services for clients across a diversity of professional sectors.  Dr Seffrin’s background is as an academic, researcher, speech writer, arts administrator, performer, and corporate educator.

The session will be sponsored by the NSW Bar Association and limited to 25 participants. The session will be interactive, and participants will finesse their own pre-prepared CPD presentation.  The session will be in person; it will not be possible to participate online.

The session is open to barristers of all levels of seniority and priority will be given to barristers who are interested in delivering a CPD session for the Bar Association in the coming year.

Please note: Only NSW barristers or members of the NSW Bar Association can register for CPD’s or webinars.
