Tuesday, 27 August at 5pm - NSWBAR Common Room - Keeping Clients Safe

Join the Legal Aid Committe and hear from our expert panel, Judge Elizabeth Boyle, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2), Sydney Registry, Anna Baltins, Acting Director, Family and Domestic Violence, Legal Aid NSW and Stephen Wilson, Chief Executive Officer, Protective Group about how to enhance your skills when working with clients at risk of family and domestic violence to protect their safety.

As barristers, we often have instructing solicitors who may, or may not, have taken appropriate steps in high risk matters to assist to protect clients at risk of harm. In the court room, a barrister is a protector of information and our actions can also create risks, if care is not taken. The panel will discuss how can we better protect those we act for from the risk that they or their children may be exposed to harm during the course of the litigation.
